Do you think it is "right" or "justified" that the president of Toyota, Akio Toyoda, must testify before Congress? I do not know all the details, but to me this seems a bit absurd. I think Toyota was made aware of an issue. They acted on this issue by recalling their vehicles to fix the issue. To me they are acting as a responsible company by taking responsibility. They should not be reprimanded for being responsible. No wonder people are afraid to take responsibility. If you do the right thing you get bashed for it.

Perhaps we have become aware of the cultural differences and just want to see him fall on his sword. What is there to testify to; what did they know and when did they know it. I doubt that any cover up exists. That would be an American thing. I haven't addressed this issue at Hugh Care!, but it gives me something to think about. I may not be an idiot, however when I attempted to plead ignorance, I was found guilty on multiple counts in the court of public opinion. Hugh Betcha
